What's Included in Generator Maintenance?

 

Each scheduled maintenance visit includes:

​

• Engine Maintenance: Engine oil and filter change using manufacturer-approved fluids, air filter inspection or replacement, and spark plug replacement according to manufacturer recommendations.

• Electrical & Battery Inspection: Battery testing, charger output verification, and inspection of electrical connections and grounding.

• Fuel System Inspection: Fuel supply leak checks and regulator inspection for propane-powered generators.

• Generator Inspection: Inspection of the enclosure, exhaust system, and overall equipment condition.

• Controls & Safety Testing: Controller firmware review, alarm testing, and automatic transfer switch (ATS) testing.

How often should my generator be serviced?

We offer annual and twice-yearly preventive maintenance plans. The appropriate frequency may depend on your generator's manufacturer recommendations and usage.

 

Do I need to schedule my maintenance visits?

Yes. Customers are responsible for contacting C.B. Lucas to schedule each included maintenance visit. We make reasonable efforts to send reminders, but visits are not automatically scheduled.

 

When are maintenance appointments available?

Generator maintenance appointments are available Monday through Friday, 8 AM–4 PM, excluding holidays, with a four-hour arrival window.

 

Does my maintenance agreement renew automatically?

Yes. Agreements are for 12 months and automatically renew unless written cancellation notice is provided at least 30 days before renewal.
